My love of vintage items began with the London street-vendor scene in  Disney’s 1971 movie “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” – what a fascinating array of treasures!  One of my first UK holiday “bucket list” stops was a visit to Portobello Road (a silver toast caddy from that historic market street remains a highly-prized possession).  The adolescent discovery of Austen, Christie, and Dickens inspired the remainder of my tour through the British countryside, villages and tea rooms.
